I was hired by lifebushido and one of the requirements is that you must join a triangle, and I will admit that this is the last thing that I wanted to do, I just wanted to earn some extra money. So, I reluctantly joined a triangle. The first triangle I joined fizzled out before even starting, so I thought I would start my own, however that didn't work out for various reasons, one of the reasons was that the triangle creative project had changed, Steve Kantor had decided he wanted to write this book on goals and that would be what all the Triangles that had formed in January would work on. Some of my members were not on board with these changes and decided to quit, I was so discouraged that I was ready to throw in the towel. I didn't end up throwing in the towel and I am glad I didn't. I was asked to join another triangle and it is there that I started to learn about myself and how anything is possible. But, the key ingredient is to start with goals. I can tell you I have never been a fan of setting goals and it was interesting to find out from one of the exercise that we are required to do that my personality type see’s no purpose for for goals, they like doing things as they happen. Here I will share with you what I have learn about myself. And now that I know who I am, I can find out what I really want out of life and with that anything is possible. Personality Profile I found the results of my personality profiles to be pretty close to accurate. I am a Shining Star and an Enterprising Crocodile. I like to meet people and have the gift of talking to people on many levels which can lead me to many opportunities and as an Enterprising Crocodile I know when to take advantage and seize those opportunities. Feedback on FUT This is interesting because I actually had to go to friends, family and coworkers to try and see just what my unique talent is. I was given several different answers, but the one that stood out and kind of incompesses them all was that I am the type of person that can talk to anyone on just about any level and it also reflects on my personality profile the “Shining Star” here is a list of traits or habits of a Shining Star. Adapts easily to changing circumstances. Extroverted FeelingsDriven Perceptive Observant
I know you may be asking yourself what does this have to do with your unique talent? well consider the definition of a Shining Star and then you will see why I have been a successful manager in several different fields of manufacturing and warehousing:
“As managers, Shining Stars relish the opportunity to be the center of the attention. They are known to “perform” for their subordinates to keep the work atmosphere light and entertaining. Shining Star managers focus on the present moment rather than longterm goals but are both resourceful and inspiring.” I am glad that I had someone pushing me to do this and that I didn't quit when I was most discouraged. I found all of these exercises to be very interesting and fulfilling. I found it interesting because some of the things I have learned about myself I had already suspected, but couldn't really see in myself, but by doing these exercises it has brought it out of me and that is the fulfilling part of it, bringing it all together and being able to see who I really am. This will only be enhanced by learning how to do annual goals something I have always been unwilling to try because of fear of failure and the thought that they were unnecessary. Remember, anything is possible and as the old saying goes “ a goal without a plan is just a wish”.
